2009 St. Francis Fall for Greenville Adds New Elements to Rich Tradition
The 28th Annual “Taste of our Town” keeps the tradition of family, food, and entertainment alive; however, you will find a few new elements associated with the event.
Greenville, South Carolina: The Fall for Greenville Board of Trustees announces plans for the 2009 St. Francis Fall for Greenville, presented by Pepsi. The 28th Annual event takes place October 9th - 11th in Downtown Greenville. As tradition has it, St. Francis Fall for Greenville will host more than 30 musical acts on 3 stages in addition to 40 restaurants serving food on Main Street. You won’t have to look around too long to find some of the new elements at this year’s festival; your food and drink will be served to you using biodegradable products from Dade Paper (cups, napkins, plates, and utensils); an entire block is dedicated to craft beer in the new beer garden; the Zaxby’s kid’s area has expanded in size leaving more room for rides; and the newly designed website, www.fallforgreenville.net, is user friendly and packed full of information. For complete event details, visit www.fallforgreenville.net.
Returning for a fourth year as title sponsor of Fall for Greenville, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System again brings their own unique energy to the festival with special events and activities that promote a healthy community. Festival-goers will want to be on hand at the St. Francis “Feelin’ Good in Greenville” venue Saturday, 11:00am – 4:00pm; Sunday 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm at their new site—this year on East Washington Street. Highlighting these times will be feature performances by local youth performers from area middle and high schools and churches. In addition to celebrating the talents of local youth, St. Francis brings back one of last year’s festival favorites, Keith Johnson, “The Bubble Guy,” who rounds out the schedule – with fun and funky interactions with the audience.
With exactly 40 restaurants serving food on the street there will be something for everyone. The most expensive food item will cost 6 tickets, or the equivalent of $3.75. Each restaurant can present up to six food items, which offers the potential for 240 different tastes throughout the weekend.
Headline musical acts on the BB&T Main Stage for this year include Shooter Jennings/JJ Grey & Mofro; Big Sam’s Funky Nation/The Lee Boys; and The Out of Towners/Swingin’ Medallions. Please visit www.fallforgreenville.net for a complete line-up and entertainer bios.
